Tirol Golf - General Information
Golf is the hot sport in Tirol at the moment and recent years have seen a growing number of quality courses being developed in the mountains. The dramatic backgrounds to each course, the clear alpine air and the impressive championship course designs mean that you can now play your favourite sport for less and still get away from it all. You may even see some of the famous European sporting personalities who regularly play these courses.
Golf Season
The alpine season is from April/May until October. The courses benefit significantly from the winter rest when they are covered by snow.
Golf Resort
You can choose to stay in Scheffau or St. Johann, although the former is approximately 15 minutes further away from most of the courses than the latter. A full range of accommodation is offered in both resorts.
Golf Green Fees
Green fees are usually covered by the Golf Alpin Pass, which allows entry to most courses. The full pass covers five rounds of golf but it is possible to play as many rounds as you like. There are certain exceptions but a discount is available through MTS Ltd for those courses.
Golf Courses
The area offers a wide range of courses within easy driving distance of our resorts so you can choose the courses which are most appealing to you.
Golf Tee Times
Tee-times are pre-bookable through MTS Ltd, offering you the opportunity to plan your playing time the way you want it.
Golf Transfers
Transfers to golf courses are usually by mini-bus taxi, depending on the size of your party. Just let us know which courses you want to play and we'll be happy to quote an inclusive price and arrange appropriate pick-up times.
If you would prefer to hire a car from the airport please ask for a quote, as prices vary depending on when you're coming and size of car.
Handicap Certificates
Golf clubs need to see proof of handicap and are required by all courses. Please remember to bring yours with you.
Golf Equipment
Golf courses provide an equipment hire service. One piece of luggage most golfers don't forget are their own clubs and this has been taken into consideration when arranging transfers.
Golf Shoes
Please note that soft spikes are required by all courses.
