Sonnenwend, at midsummer, sees the mountains ablaze with lights as the locals celebrate the longest day of the year. Craft markets are full of hand-made goods such as lace, woollens, leather and woodwork. The musical tradition of the area has been handed down from generation to generation and the village band is just part of the way of life. Music on the mountains is a favourite theme for summer and you can either go to a concert in the village or wander up onto the Alm to hear the band play.
