Adult Skiing Holidays - Beginners

Scheffau is the perfect place to learn to ski. Set in the heart of Skiwelt, Tirol, Austria there are so many things to do and see as you take your first step as a ski beginner.

Ski School

Adult Ski school lessons for beginners start at the top of the Brandstadl mountain so you're right in the centre of things from your first day.  Take the Scheffau gondola from the valley station and the ski school meeting point is on your right, at the top.

Beginners ski school courses start every Sunday and the first day you'll have four hours instruction, pausing for lunch at 12 noon.  You ski instructor will show you various exercises to get you used to moving forward, side-stepping and stopping.

Ski school lessons continue throughout the week with two hours per day in the morning and the fun increases throughout the week as you get to know other members of your group and you progress and gain more confidence under the careful eye of your skilled activity instructor.

Ski Afternoons

Each afternoon is free to do what you want.  You can choose to book 'your' ski instructor to further speed your progress or you might want to practice what you've learnt that morning either on your own or with other ski friends.  Relaxing and watching the world go by from one of the restaurant terraces might also appeal or you can opt for other activities in Scheffau or the surrounding area - see our Active Alternatives page for ideas.  Whatever your decision your resort hosts are there to help, advise on or arrange whenever you need them. 

Ski Equipment

Your ski lift pass covers SkiWelt and, because you're a guest in Scheffau, allows you VIP access at the gondola to cut waiting times.  Your ski school course card gives you access to the services of one of the best ski schools in SkiWelt.  Both items will be waiting for you when you reach resort as part of our service so you won't have to go running around to pick them up before you can start skiing. Ski boots, poles and skis are available in resort and we'll arrange an appropriate time for you to pick yours up at ski-hire so you don't have to spend precious holiday time waiting in the queue.

All ski equipment is pre-bookable and we suggest that you confirm this before you arrive to give us the opportunity to help it all run smoothly and help you make the most of your time in the mountains.

Party on the Piste

This special week designed for beginners and intermediates takes place this year from 8th to 15th January.  This post festive season week includes 3* hotel accommodation right in the heart of Scheffau, lift pass, equipment hire, airport transfers and evening entertainment.  It's designed for people who've always wanted to ski but never tried or for those who have skied once before.

It's more than a ski holiday - it's a winter wonderland experience - and also included is an evening entertainment programme including candlelit walks, tobogganing, evening snowboarding and snow tubing, horse drawn sleigh ride and to round the week off we've got a gala dinner.
